Peculiar Pete's positively proposterous ponder pot |
This is going to be where I post random crap. Enjoy. |
Today was 75th international Eucharistic Congress held in Croke Park. I was working all day and was bombarded with auld ones and auld lads looking for grub and tea. I work in a restaurant on O’Connell St. for those who don’t know. Having a first hand view of the ignorance of the people who attended the event and then graced my presence was a nail in the coffin of my attitude to religion in this country. 90% of the people were 60 or above and had no regard for anyone but themselves. I was under serious pressure after being let down by a colleague, the bastard, and was doing my best to get around to everyone. One lady pulled me aside by the arm and told me I was a disgrace for having tattoos on my arms, while I served her food. Others, complained about the pettiest things and were just nasty people. I’m so happy the younger generation of this country is becoming less and less religious and am excited at the fact that my children may not have to put up with the stranglehold the church has on places like schools in this country. The Catholic religion gives a lot of people a horrible misinterpretation of how they should live their lives, some sort of superiority complex. Love your family and your friends and enjoy the short time you have in this world. And stay the fuck out of my restaurant.
This rarely seen Pete rant is now over.
